They say that you are never more than six feet away from a rat wherever you are.
Well I was a bit closer than that at the Duck Pond in Par on Friday.
Went to take some pics of the wildfowl on the pond when I spied some activity at the water’s edge. These little critters got to within two to three feet of me as they feasted on peanuts that had been dropped on the bank.
Taken on Friday 22/10/2010 at 1552 Hrs BST.
Many thanks for all C&Cs.
Rob.

Fine shot Rob as you have almost made the rat acceptable.

1 and 2 are best. Really well caught.

I did a mod on #1 where I

1. Cropped some of the foreground
2. Using an overlay layer with the 50 gray box ticked.
a. Darkened the immediate FG at 31% opacity
b. Darkened the grass in front of the rat at 55% opacity.
3. Flattened the layer

I hope you like it

This shot goes to prove even a rat can look good when the image is right! Not a favourite animal, I must say, but those bright eyes are remarkably captivating.

Superb set, v.1 is just superb. Are U sure this is a rat and not a large vole? Just curious. Great images.

Dave, I’m never totally sure but I’ve studied other images on the net and looked at other postings on epz and they look the same. However I would welcome any suggestions otherwise.

I was photographing a garage lock up door and I saw a security guard approaching me.I thought,''here we go again'',but he was only wanting to tell me to watch my step as the inside of the garage was infested with rats !!
Good shots Rob.
