I was playing with manual focus so I don’t think this is too sharp but I thought I’d share it with you all anyway ‘cos I find the wings quite pretty.

This was a weird find. One, I don’t often find remains about the place. I guess the garden’s creatures get to them first. Two, I have never seen the living version of this butterfly before! Biz-zah.

I’m calling this Part 1 as I was meant to upload a dead baby bird (quite colourful, if I remember correctly) as a V2 here…but I can’t find the pic! Maybe on the laptop…hmm. I REALLY need to get organised and weed and tidy up my folders. Bah.

Anywho…here you go…butterfly remnants.

Andrew

I'll find it, Ccat Smile

Gareth, that's the first thing I thought when I saw it. And I was trying to figure out what happened to it.

How beautiful that it died against a perfectly matching stem...
I have a dead bird shot somewhere on my old hard drive that I cannot locate. Hope you find yours before it starts to smell... Wink

It may have had an encounter with a bird and then died from its injuries or possibly damaged and or deformed when it emerged from the chrysalis

Thanks, all.

Ed, my guess was one of the garden lizards got it. My mum reckoned it had come to the end of its life and was weak and some creature (maybe a bird, come to think of it) got it as a result. I never thought about the deformity aspect, though. Good point. I guess we'll never know Sad

Mmm, Yes. I've always said your images are never predictable but a dead butterfly, then a dead bird never did come into my thinking, I promise you Tongue Such pretty wings suspended amongst the greenery.
