The Redpoll (carduelis flammea)
Attractive little bird that could easliy be mistaken for a Sparrow were it not for the bright red crown on his head. I think he is a super bird and all the more so (for me) as it is the only one that I have ever managed to get.
Could have wished for something a wee bit crisper but I think it just works.
I am absolutely floored by the generosity shown to the Goldfinch. Never dreamt it would do so well and I am deeply grateful. Thanks to you all.

Ron

A stunning capture of this most endearing little bird. The rustic background certainly allows one to appreciate the fine shape and form.

Love the presentation and the great dof, possibly lacks just a little sharpness otherwise it would be perfect.

I should invite you to my feeder...we have dozens of them right now. I have not been able to get a decent photo though, they are so active and very skittish.
