not to everyones taste i guess but i really like the whole feel of this - i guess your subject here was in a shelter (and as such photographs are normally best avoided) but your camera skills and/or processing have turned this into a different and satisfying image.
personally i would have preferred a lower camera angle but that is just me.
Why are photographs of birds in a shelter "normally best avoided"? I just don't get that. Regardless if where it was taken, this is a beautifully lit and composed image that is also beautifully presented and adds great dignity to this magnificent bird.
sorry, don't wish to hijack Peter's comment area but Lynne the point is that the vast majority of 'shelter' images are not to this standard and as such generally look like the attempts of a bad club photographer - i thought/hoped my follow-on comment above then flattered the author. so i am in full agreement with your point but so was my own initial comment. i hope that makes sense
