Beautiful shape and excellent composition. This has worked really well.
Hi Rishikesh,
Love this shot, the composition is fantastic and you've got the bird fairly sharp with good depth of field.
It is a little dark on the underside which is often the case with these types of shots and for me I think you've just got the tips of the wings a little too close to the edge which I think is probably from cropping which also happens with these shots.
I've uploaded a mod where I increased the canvas to give a little more space at the edges and then increased the fill light and added a little saturation to add a bit more colour. I then sharpened the image.
Hope this helps

Dave / Annie - thanks for the comments which for me just starting out is so helpful. Really appreciated the touch up Dave which has much improved the definition. This is my second red kite trip out so really excited at my progress. My elements 8 is really slow though in downloading my catalogue & wonder whether scalling up my toshiba laptop is the key if I want to progress with good fast photo editing. Any suggestions appreciated.
Hi Rishikesh,
thanks for the comment on my Kite shot. I have been going to Gigrin for a number of years but still waiting for it to be warm and sunny on my visits ![]()
Agree with what been said abut the crop and uderwing darkness.
The mod still looks a little dark on my screen, I have CS3 which allows me to pull detail out of the shadows, makes editing this type of shot a little easier.
