Many thanks for the great comments and Guest Editors Award. I actually took the shot some time ago. I wasn't sure about it at first, but recently resurrected it with some post processing. I recall it was taken quite early in the morning during the regatta week before racing. The boats were struggling to get out to the start, but there was no wind so they were coming in close to shore to get out of the tide. I was playing about with a remote shutter release that I had just discovered you could lock off!

It works really well. The slow shutter has removed distractions while leaving the boats recognisable and a bit abstract. Unique and effective all round, Jacqui Smile

Dreamy is a good word for this image. Like the balance between near and far boats and also the red white and blue sails. The slow shutter has worked really well to create something unique. I like it Wink

I had to come back to give you my UA Peter - a very inspiring image and one I'm keen to try for myself. I'd definitely put it in a club competition!! Smile Love it!
