We visited RSPB Saltholme for their Spring Festival today. At the Saltholme hide we were treated to a close view of a spotted redshank, and eventually it lined up with the more common version, so here we have a close comparison (spotted in the foreground, a first sighting for me).

Glorious day... and an avocet too... watch this space!
