Because of the decline in the fishing industry in Eyemouth,
it is common to see pallets like this waiting to go to the scrap yard.
Good for me I admit,
but not so good for the fishermen !!

The fishing industry haas taken so many hits in recent years and this is testimony I suppose to the decimation of the fleet: as you say, has given a good photo opportunity for you, that wee G 11 capturing that testimony in extra fine details, tones and textures, Mick.
Ronnie.
Excellent Mick, plenty of rust and great detail,
Fred.
Mick, nice shot and detail...........it's sad, was in Ayr a few months back, always remember as kids my
Dad taking us to fish market, could not believe it, new flats now, and not even that nice......
Paul...........
Brilliant shot Mick, great textures and colours, as you say good for you, not so good for the fishermen
Hugh
Sometimes we just have to take advantage of other peoples misfortunes Mick, and very nicely done here.

Makes you wonder how they managed to get it onto the pallet in the first place! You are not related to the barrel organist in the Magic roundabout are you, Mick? ![]()
Dave
A varied basket of goodies, loops of all shapes and sizes (well, nearly) and a pair of non-rusting tubes too.
A good catch from the Rustographer in Chief ![]()

Bill
So many different sorts and sizes of chain here. I'm sure they all had their different purposes. Sonn there will be nobody left who even knows what the purposes were.

Yes Mick, such a shame - so many things in life disappearing - much more so now that any time I fear - and I don't think it is just rusty chains ending up on the scrapheap!
Nice texutres and colours - it is a good job you are around with your lens Mick recording such things.
Be a shame if this fine specimen of rust went to the scrapyard too along with the pallets!
May it rust in peace where it is ![]()

Sad to see a whole industry going downhill. It is a treasure for you, for sure. Bet you could make a garden fence out of this.. Weld it all in position.
I bet you were delighted Mick when you saw this, great shot..Lin
An image that symbolises the decline of the fishing industry, that is some collection of rust
