Not managed to get out lately for work reasons so delved into the archive. This is the old pack horse bridge at Carrbridge. Usually shot from above and with the river in spate, the low water last autumn gave an opportunity for a different view.

There's a bit more water flowing than when I visited this bridge. Given you a good reflection. Good composition

A bit older than my bridges, Al. I like the darker clouds, gives a useful frame at the top of the image and keeps the overall contrast down. A well thought out composition as well, boulders, trees and reflection all in the right places give a nice balanced feel. The f2.8 still gives a good dof at 24mm.

That is a lovely old bridge. I'm surprised they made it so steep if it were for pack horses. A gorgeous shot.

Thank you so much for the UA, Andy! Well chuffed for my first post in ages. Grin Thanks roo for your comments Phil, Dave, Andy, Joline, Keith, Jeremy, Peter and Ant! Smile the The road has lost its height, Joline, which exaggerates the hump of the bridge.

Very nicely composed Alan. Good interest and clarity in the foreground and the bridges reflection/shadow helps lead the eye up to the bridge itself.
The tone detail in the sky is nice but I think if it were a little darker especially at the top it would balance better with the foreground.

Great use of the reflection in the composition Al. A bridge I have never managed to get a good shot of.

Thanks Phil, I have always found it tough to get a shot of it that I'm happy with too, funny since its a landmark that is shot so regularly.
