Reflections on the Somme
A 'grab shot' as was setting off round the corner for our fantastic sunset!!
but the couple just appeared and made the scene in my mind...

V2 they are picnicking...oh that is the life...tranquility

Thank you everyone for commenting yesterday

Off out early today with my U3A group to take photos of Lavender Fields

Must say a huge thank you to you all I am stunned by the comments
as I really am not a landscape photographer..and the only wildlife is in V1 ...you have to look close for the birds
in flight!..not dust bunnies, as I thought until closer inspection.Wink

Three main elements, house, tree and figures, in perfect alignment but with the bonus of them twice (a la reflection Smile). A very nicely composed landscape with lovely contrast and tones, Lillian. Personally, if birds look like dust bunnies I tend to clone them out anyway.. but that's just me.

Superb V1. If I could just suggest a small thing. I've looked at this with the top of the image cropped off so that it balances the bottom, making a more letterbox shape. It just makes me more comfortable with the composition, but can't fault the content and simplicity.

The thumbnail jumps out from the Gallery, for its clean crisp formality. It's a lovely capture of late, low sunlight as well as a strong composition. Can I be picky and suggest getting rid of some tiny 'bits and pieces' here and there - the three birds in the sky (two between the building and the tree, one above the couple), they're not big enough to be of interest but big enough to be annoying; plus a bit of litter in the water breaking the reflection of the tree, and a white dot in the roof reflection. Just minor points, but I think that would improve the image so I hope you won't be offended.
