Good Afternoon All

My photo today was taken at Canterbury Cathedral when we visited in July this year. When I took this, I just loved the spiralling candle holder, the barbed wire around the candle, and the shadows that fall across the floor which is carved with the simple word..Remember. I never met my Grandad, who died in the Second World War, and all through my life I have bought a Poppy, just for him. So my picture is dedicated not only to my Grandad, but to all of the brave Men & Women who are still fighting to keep not only our country, but the world a safer place.

Thank you for your votes and comments on my last upload, Facing The Wall....as ever they are always appreciated.

Have a good weekend all, and thank you so much for looking!

Love Julie xx

A fitting image Julie - that barbed wire is particularly poignant.

I agree that your commentary is very moving and such an appropriate image "in Remembrance".

Very well composed image. Love that spiralling shadow. Lovely and rather different image for Remembrance weekend.

Ann

What a beautifuly dedicated image.
If I was to do anything here it would have been to move the candle stick back a little taking the shadow off the wording.
I like the personal conection Juli,,

This is so well seen Julie, a good eye! I really like the spiral candle stick and its shadow - the barbed wire is so poignant for this 'remembrance' image!
