An account of yesterday morning, beginning with the muster and continuing through to the crowd filing into church after the laying of wreaths.
V6 is lined up for the town's 2014 calendar.
Thanks for looking,
Moira

I'm always amazed at the number of pipers who appear when their are ceremonials and celebrations, seems the pipes are more popular than some doubters think.
I once tavelled from Glasgow to Corby with a pipe band in a bus for the championships and I could hear pipes in my head for weeks afterwards.

What a wonderful record of a special day for your community - I particularly like the study of shoes, socks and kilts in v1 and the line of people coming up that hill in v4 ![]()

[I'm sure I have seen uploads from this pov before in either yours or Bill's gallery]
Excellent reportage Moira
Helen
A fine reportage, Moira. The brownies brought back memories of our kids' participation in the Remembrance Day Services.

A good set of images Moira.... do you know there was not one camera in evidence in Haltwhistle..not even the Courant. A friend of mine has two images selected for the Courant calendar and do you know they have not even given him a complimentary copy. Needless to say he wasn't paid for his images either.
A fine and varied set of images of the day's event, Moira, very well documented here ![]()

Yes Mick. One wreath yesterday was laid by the family of a local lad killed in the Gulf War by 'friendly fire' (ie the Americans working on the shoot first, ask questions later principle). A lot of things don't change....
Re V6, I will add that our local Vicar is also Chairman of the Community Partnership that got funding for the new library, as well as being responsible for a lot of good things happening here.
Helen, Bill uploaded a picture of the procession taken from much the same point last year.
Thanks everyone. Had a busy morning, the town's 'Tidy Down', weeding and litter-picking before the winter sets in.

Hi Joline - we get to choose and we go for the more general views, with lots of people who can recognise themselves. It's what sells!
Good captures Moira, not an easy thing to do but you did well , I like v1 best of all cracking detail very well composed.

Excellent reportage/pj images Moira - v1 so very much your style, and the way you see. The feet facing in the opposite direction top left makes this.
v9, keeps pulling at my emotions........
Anne
Nice reportage here Moira, esp. like v1, 3 and 4 - guess why???
