On Tuesday morning we set off to see my Dad in Kettering General Hospital. There were a string of phonecalls during the journey. The last one when we were 20 minutes away, saying that Dad had stopped breathing during the insertion of the temporary pacemaker. They had inserted a tube to get him to breath, but needed at that point to intubate him or take the tube out. We agreed to take it out. Joy said he would probably die at that point. Amazingly he lasted until we arrived, parked and got to his bedside.
It was all so fast!!
Thank you all for your prayers and good wishes.
As we sat down with the undertaker, there was a phonecall to say that my brother's father in law was unwell. He was just about to go into hospital having had a possible stroke or heart attack. He is in a very poor way too. It is uncertain if he will pull through. So we are very much in prayer for them as this is a double blow.
AND today Joy should have her baby!!!
(the ducks are getting very excited)
So...........this is Barnwell where Dad's body lies in rest. We went for a quiet walk around the village and lanes for a short while yesterday before we set off home to Birmingham. It was so peaceful, with birds singing away beautifully.
Its not much of a composition I know, but it seemed appropriate.
Thanks for looking
Helen

Helen, please receive my deepest sympathy and condolence. The good Lord gave life, He is the only One who can take it away in due time. May the father in law of your brod be touch and heal by our God the Healer. Let His will be done.

It looks like a lovely place with flowers and beautiful trees, so I am sure he will find peace there, and elsewhere.....
A beautiful place indeed. At times of loss it's great to have both faith and family. I hope your grandchild's arrival eases the pain. Take care Helen.

Your lucky to have spent those last moments together. My Grandad died last May whilst we were on the way to the hospital. Still wonder why I couldn't be there??
Hope things go well for your Brothers father in law.
