This is similar to one of my last uploads, Ice & Cream. Shot a couple of days later (same day as Horns of Morlich) it shows what a difference 2 days of freezing temps makes. There are many more air bubbles under the ice now. The rocks lack the lovely side lighting of my first trip but then there was much heavier cloud. Hopefully the ice patterns help compensate. ![]()

Well composed. You caught the ice beautifully.
Lavina
I prefer the bluer tones of this version, Al. There's more detail and texture in those rocks and the far hills as well, and the reflected light off the ice gives more 'life' to the scene.

Thanks Jeremy and Kate ![]()

Sorry Kate, wasn't near a computer to reply but I see you worked it out for youself! August is an interesting time, still summer colours everywhere but the mood of the loch changes with the seasons. ![]()
Brilliant photography, I have been looking trough your showcase fantastic. You favour portrait view rather than landscape and it works very well indeed.
We are coming up to Scotland later this year touring in our caravan, I am hoping to get some great shots in the highlands, and revisit my wifes birthplace in Glasgow
