This was one of my first shots with my then new macro lens . Its as shot apart from darkening the already dark background. Its also hand held which was tricky due to the constant wind. Regards John

Gorgeous crisp, detailed capture. I think this is Peony Bowl of Beauty. (But I stand to be corrected!) Lens is looking good! I love the presentation against the black background, brings the colour alive.

Beautiful image, so well titled, John: I think this variety is known as "Bowl of Beauty". A very fine shot it it and nicely presented against the black b/g.
