I prefer V2, Nick, with the extra space at the bottom and right. In V1 the duck is too squashed in. I appreciate that you wanted to keep as much of the splashes in the frame as possible, so I won't suggest an even tighter crop. The action is nicely captured, the head detail is good and there is interest in the water with the gold on the ripples.

Both good. A Mandarin duck having a bath. Nicely done. To crop the top would remove the flying water, so leave as is.
