Hi all, sat in a hide waiting for the elusive kingfisher when this heron landed for a look around !

Keith, if you were awaiting a kingfisher and given the lens i can only assume you were podded or supported on the hide somehow... i would still have erred toward caution though and upped the ISO a little to increase shutter - personally feel that 1/60 is gambling in this situation (although here you have made it pay off)

nice to see knowledgeable use of EC for controlling highlights

Beautiful rich, warm light and superb plumage detail, textures and tones, Keith. Razor sharp with fine eye and softly blurred bg colours. Spot on for me.
