First upload with my new toy - Olympus OM-D. I took advantage of the swivel screen to shoot from the low angle. Colour enhanced (dramatically) in Lightroom

Such a tradigic photo with an added vibrancy that life continues.

Enjoy the new toy =) I have a thing about straight verticals atm, I'm sure it will pass though. Thought I'd give you one of my very prestigious awards though for all your hard work, I am very selective who gets my award and they are very rare...much rarer than ECs you know .

Enjoy the day

What a great find. The bits and pieces look good so close to the grasses/bushes.
I think the dark blue sky could have been toned down just a tad though.

Thanks for the comments and votes, and KT for the award Smile
Chris, I toned the sky up to volume 10 on purpose - original added for comparison.
What do others think... as is (V1)...as was (V2)...or somewhere in between?

Well it certainly works, very interesting image, enjoy your new toy.

Used at 9mm to produce dramatic compositions as good as this, really shows how CSCs have developed to an exceptionally high level of capability. The 9-18 has become the default lens on my "walkabout" system for capturing "discovered" subjects such as this.

Very impressed with the emotional content of this subject, presented in a very sensitive composition.

V1 looks very much like the sky, and the light, outside my kitchen window a few minutes ago as the clouds rolled in from the Pennines. No problems there.
I love the angle, it's the child's eye view in a way, plus the rising diagonal of vegetation actually gives a positive, upbeat feel. But I'd definitely get rid of the stray bit of grass coming in from above top right.

A very thought provoking and so very emotive piece of photography, which I am sure will ring bells for so many viewers.

V1 is excellent Pete, and great subject matter.
I don't have a swivel Screen, so I have to stoop low for some of my shots, but then you know that Smile

A good find indeed Pete.

This week I`ll be picking up either an EM5 or an EP3.

How are you finding that 9-18.

Jury's still out. I really like the angle of view but I'm not 100% sure about sharpness yet. More playing needed before I'm convinced.

Interesting shot Smile
Re: LR. Closer to V1 than V2 for me - but it's the blown highlights that slightly distract.
Also looks like you have some serious green/purple CA on the corners.
LR4.1's superb CA adjustment should iron that out nicely... and then your perceived sharpness should increase too Smile
(I know the DA12-24 looks incredible with LR4.1 Wink )

Guess it will be just fine closed down a few stops.

I`m tempted by the 12mm, but a little voice keeps telling me to look at the x100 Smile
