Went for some fresh, cold air this afternoon at Baggeridge Country Park in South Staffordshire.
This country park is on the site of the former Baggeridge Colliery(once owned by the Earl of Dudley) on the edge of The Black Country.
I have fond memories of the colliery as my Dad was once the Wharf Manager; I often accompanied him there on Saturday mornings.
I have vivid memories of the pit head and winding gear as well as the steam locomotives used there!
Took a grab shot of this little poser on the way back to the car - you have to be quick!!
Many thanks for all comments on my 'motion blur' Ridgehill Wood upload - appreciated, as ever.

Looks good against the background and I like the frame. Maybe needs just a little more room in front of the head (and I would have flipped the image horizontally)

I don't disagree with Dave about "a little more room in front of the head" - it would have given a better balance with the room above the head. +++
Have tried the horizontal flip but am not convinced it offers an improvement.
I always appreciate your comments, Dave - keep 'em coming, please!!

I agree with you about the lack of opportunities to learn craft skills!
