RAW version in Mods section
Out today with Steve and Mac, naff weather so we went to the canal at Slowerby Bridge and had some lunch - came out to a little blue sky and got a few shots before it went grey again.
This is where the Calder and Hebble splits from the Rochadale canal. A few moorings there, nice cobbled tow path etc.
Forgotten the name of the pub, was quite nice and a lovely pint of Landlord

Does not look right to me Ade.
will have to come back to it.
Andy...
it was called the Navigation
just looked on a photo!
nice beer and a huge gammon steak!
thing I did differently on this Andy was to up the mid-tones, there was a lot of dark shadow, so thought I'd bring it out a little.
bit different to the normal way I do things I must admit.
Will put the RAW conversion in the MODS section
That for me Ade is what is missing Shadows were i would expect them.
does the RAW look a little more "real" then...
may be tempted to re-post a version closer to the RAW actually..
I can see why you lifted the left hand side bringing out the detail on the trees which i would leave as is its the buildings that just dont look right perhaps a slight contrast boost or a bit of dodge and burn?.
just having another go - will shove it in the mods.
keeping in more of the towpath and less sky too.
Just had a very quick go.
but will play with it more tomorrow,as i think the composition works fine.
Andy...
Cheers Andy - I know where you're coming from.
I think I was trying to make a cheerful shot from one that didn't really fit the bill...
I'll leave more contrast in the final cut
cheers for you tips ![]()
Ey Up
This one turned out nice enough, good job we stuck it out grimley in the pub while the weather improved! Will have a go at mine now and see if there is much to salvage, cheers, Mac
