The sculpture of Billy Fury by Tom Murphy, situated on the Albert Dock in Liverpool. This was donated by the Sound of Fury fan club.

Billy Fury was born in Liverpool on 17th April 1940 and died in London on 28th January 1983 aged just 42. It is believed that rheumatic fever, which he had as a child and which damaged his heart, ultimately contributed to his death.

This is my tribute to him.

V2 is a mono version which you may like.

Thank you for your continued support and comments.

Carol

I always reckoned that Billy Fury was one of the ''forgotten'' rockers of the past.
Good to see he is being remembered here Carol !!

Billy Fury - there's a blast from the past. Wonderful piece of work here and I can't decide between the 2 versions so half vote to each Carol. Moira

So dramatic, the sculpture set against that wonderful sky. Works brilliantly. For me, it has to the subtle colours of V1.

I had to giggle when I saw this Carol - I nearly worked on my capture exactly the same sculpture this afternoon! But am too tired to be bothered at the mo.

Love your treatment of this - I think you are our new texture queenGrin

It's a great sculpture isn't it. And did you see the one of the family? We have a very similar one by the same artist here in Portsmouth - in fact a few - I so love them - I think there may be an image of one way back in my PF somewhere. The sculptors get about you know.

Hope all is well with you and thanks for everything honey bunch xxx

Never seen this sculpture before but it captures the essence of the performer. An exceptional creative piece of work which for me needs the colour version. Therefore V1 is my choice. Top quality work

This is a wonderful tribute Carol, i was a big rock n roll fan back in the early 80's, especially Billy Fury (one of our most under rated stars of the time) My mates and i went to his funeral...cant believe it was nearly 30 years ago!
Ricky.
