This is one of last years fawns, approximately ten months old now.
She was busy grazing on the heather alongside her mum. They were grazing just below the brow of a hill. The wind direction was in my favour so I knew that if I carefully approached down-wind and from the opposite side of the hill and waited patiently, then it would hopefully be a matter of time before they both worked there way up towards the brow of the hill. Thankfully all went according to plan and I was rewarded with a very close view of both doe and fawn.
The reddish hues of the new summer coat are just beginning to come through around the ears and throat.
