Another day in the "During the War" series, still got few more yet..... so long as you not getting bored? Gone for mono today for a change to the aged and sepia tones.
This Lady was demonstrating wash day during the wartime, not candid today, she gladly posed for the shotSmile
The thing of this image I like is the strong shadow of the washing line, I know the bottom of the image is quite dark from the shadows, but thought it added to the grimness...... Fancy having to wash your bedding this way on a day like today, Dont think I'd botherWink

There is so much of interest to look at in this image, I love the old mangle, I remember my mother using one of these Smile Very well captured, love the way the shadow from the washing on the line falls at a diagonal across her face. Carol

Great composition here! I would've liked more to see a bit of fill-flash for those harsh shadows though!
