The portrait comp from my 'challenge' morning for Trevhas. As I said from my last upload, I roamed up and down a 20m stretch of the loch trying different comps and formats. These rocks were great in portrait but no landscape and I wanted this outlook because of the great light on the Northern Corries. I learnt a lot that day thanks to Trevor's advice and now try all formats (including square) when assessing the potential for an image. Smile

Lovely light and you have definitely found an interesting fg. I like it.

And remember, in the words of Huey Lewis "It's hip to be square"....Grin

Excellent composition Alan with lots going on to keep the viewer interested. i like the gathering of stones in the fg and then were off out into the Loch with the smaller stones to the ice, reflections, good defining ripple line, snow storm in the mountains and you have the right density of cloud to balance fg stones. I prefer this proportion of land and sky as i feel it's taken from a more natural balanced viewpoint and feel that i am not forced to look down. I like this shot alot Alan ! Excellent capture!
Trevor.

A beautifully crafted image All, shows that you don't need f/22 to get the whole thing in focus.

An excellent image and your own style shining through here.

Cheers Dougie! I used 3 exposures at f/11 and different focus points then blended them to get the back to front sharpness.
