Thanks for looking,
Nice textures, is it duotoned?
much prefer this toning but appreciate the experimentation of the previous upload, the deep blacks work well in this
Good textures .Well captured
very good toning Michael which really helps strengthen the contrast. Would be interested to hear how you went about this one?
Cheers, all, and don't worry about that comment you made in regards to yesterday's post, Nicholas; I appreciate honest feedback.
Mike, my process is this:
I brightened the image slightly using Levels, and converted the image to B&W using Gradient Map. I then use a Curves layer to tweak the image and get a baseline contrast that I'm happy with.
Once this is done, I used a Selective Colour layer, using the following settings on the Neutral channel - Cyan+7, Magenta+5, Yellow+15. I then created a second Selective Colour layer and used the following settings - for the neutral channel Cyan+15; for the whites channel Yellow+33.
I then opened another Levels layer to tweak things a bit, and finally used a contrast layer to finish the image off.
Superb detail and textures.
Really interesting shot that lept out of the page at me. Well done.
Wonderful close up details & textures, Superb.
