My favourite street in Paris. It runs from the absurdity of the Pompidou Centre, through the trendy Marais district, to the supremely elegant Place des Vosges.
Thanks for looking,
Lovely reportage, lovely pictures, but please don't call the Pompidou Centre absurd - it is one of my favourite buildings and as an exhibition space unencumbered by utilities, it is stunning! (We're all different)!
Lynne - just to clarify, I love the absurd! I don't view the description as derogatory, more about the freedom of imagination in a confined space, which is something Paris does particularly well.
Great set of shots Moira, wow those shoes....
Nice set of images, particularly like V2 it has such movement in the blinds and great light.
three nice shots Moira, V2 was so well seen,
A shiny wet street and great captured reflections
Love all 3 Bit V3 gets my vote today
Those drop dead sexy shoes and a reflection of a "frump"
Another fine set of Paris Moira. You certainly have an eye for the image. Ron.
tough to choose among the three Moira.
v1 for the lovely texture on the ground with all the water also play of light.
v2 for asymmetry in symmetry
v3, like barabara says for those awesoem shoes and ofcourse fantastic reflection.
pity can do only one vote, but pls count as three.
PS: have another of the thru wet glass uploaded, pls do check it out.
Super set of images, V3 has to be my favorite just because of the reflections encroaching on the strength of the actual window display.
three such different and compelling images, eclectic but all so well observed, two is delightful with the twist of the blind and light differences, three looks a lesson in some S&M practices, (some might say very French) with the steel inserted into leg, one is finished off nicely by the yellow of hose, all a pleasure to view.
Quote: Three such different and compelling images
Not only different but also very good.
a wonderful set....so well observed
love esp. V3 ....great shoes and reflection
a varied set, v1 for me.lesley
I don't normally look at more than one version but I did today and enjoyed V3.
This is more like it Moira. No matter how sweet these little cuties look, they are still little brats at heart !! Now that would have been a cracker. The guy here hoseing down under your table. She would not have looked so cute there,I fancy !! Good ''trio'' in No 2 with the windows. And for No3,you will know I prefer the ''real'' thing !!
Finally,I too was a Shadows fan,but not a Cliffy fan. However,we can still form a society for him. Cliff Richards Appreciation Society for S..... !!
Three wonderfully different images but with the same fantastic light & shadow.
Lovely to see "Man at work" in V1.
Very different images - V1 does it for me - great capture ~ love the colours and the shine on that street!
Very good, like V1
Another fine set, Moira...think V3 of the shoe in the window with the reflection is my fave.
I'm back home very briefly, thanks to everyone who has voted and commented today, I'm delighted by the reception this has received.
great set Moira
All three-- interesting, sharp eyes! and interesting images follow-- I like v 1 best-- man at work!
I hope he wasn't aiming that hosepipe at Bill.
V1 is great. He appears to be taking his hosing down very seriously. Love the light in V2 and the originailty of V3.
The thumbnail had me quite worried, V1.
Through your eyes photography is certainly different and entertaining.
Three interesting images Moira.
Really like V2 on it's own.
Great set of images. Like them all but love V3. ...Sandy
V3 for me too. Strong comp' and contrasts.
He looks as if he is seriously aiming at something, lol. V3 is my favourite, so well composed, you have a wonderful eye for images like this.
Excellent series with V3 getting my best vote
Three excellent images moira,v3 is excellent well captured regards
I agree with you on the absurdity but not just on the pompidou centre, Paris has many absurdities and I love them all, that is the attraction to many, The Grande Arche area is one such absurdity but fab..all great shots Moira,
Great set, has to be No 3 for me, and i think I would have to have the metal support embedded in my leg as well to stand up let alone walk in those shoes
This is a great set. Love the twisted blind.
Good series Moira but V3 is the standout for me.
Don't know which to choose as fav' here Moira, I guess that means, I like them all as much for different reasons? Nar, I just can't make my mind up.
V2 is a stand out! What an amazingly well sighted shot. So many would have passed this one by....great work.
I've never "done" Paris properly - these images convince me that Sandra and I should one day Moira!
Good set here Moira.V1 for me though.
An interesting series of shots Moira.
Three great shots
V1 and V2. Like them both. V2 should be allowed to stand on its own.
A super set Moira, glad to see that you haven't watered these images down and have plenty new stuff in the pipeline
Looking at this door one can see why this street had once been named: Rue de Francs-Bourgeois.
