I nearly chopped his head off - a real grab shot and no real time to get him positioned correctly as I heard the pounding feet. Taken in March 2012 and originally processed at that time in LR3. I wasn't keen on the processing, but have fiddled with it in LR5 and it looks a lot better. Comments and criticisms are very welcome. Thanks for looking.
Many thanks to Moira for her UA for One kipper to go - and to all of you for your comments and votes.

This is a lovely spontaneous shot (much better term than grab shot) that captures the exuberance of the child beautifully. I too would be tempted to run along those gorgeous curvy lines but sadly my running days are long gone.

Cool swirling abstract, random light and shadows, then human life dashes through the frame. You weren't set up for the child but 1/100 second has served you well, just enough motion blur for the child to contrast with the crisp clean lines.
Those two red stripes - pure serendipity.

The implied motion in the paving and the motion of the boy complement each other perfectly. That touch of blue in his clothing in that great position is a real fine composition.
