Thanks to all those who voted or commented on Lonely Lodgings. Here's an alternative view of Ryvoan Bothy with less of the hill on the right which has the flat lighting as Dave helpfully pointed out. I think this view enhances the solitude but has less grandeur!

A welcome sight as you trudge along the track and the thought of some rest and a meal along the way. A fine pod and composition.

The track leading to the Bothy is excellent, Al. The overall tones and contrast look more harmonious on this image. Some great shadow and textures on the pebbles and stones in the foreground as well, and you've still got that snow-dusted hill in the distance. Excellent.

If you were looking for a strong lead in for the shot then you certainly found it, Alan: not only that but you have some interesting f/g detail with the large stones in the track and excellent detail from front to back.
Another fine composition from this spot.
Ronnie.

Thanks Dougie, Dave and Ronnie! Thanks especially for the useful critiques Dave and Ronnie. These are the kind of comments which help me try to improve my photography and are one of the best bits about EPz. Smile
