The Vatican Museum is home to several museums comprising of different sections from different periods and regions. The Greco-Roman Pio-Clementine Museum contains several rooms - here is part of the Sala a Croce Greca (Hall of the Greek Cross).
This area was roped off, so it was easy to compose the shot without stray bodies wandering into view, but it was still tricky shooting hand-held at 1/10 second whilst being jostled! ![]()
Single Raw image processed in Adobe Camera Raw, tweaked in Photomatix Pro and Photoshop Elements 11
Thanks again to everyone for your votes & comments on my previous uploads, it really is appreciated and encouraging.

great processing ... you really have made it look wonderful

You're a bold and brave man, Trev!
A well-taken photograph of a subject totally suited to your preferred treatment. Excellent tones and loads of fascinating detail.
Regards
Bill
You have a steady hand!
This has the most beautiful, subtle silver-gilt tones.

A stunner Trev, well worth of my UA.
Regards
Trev.
A stunner Trev. Shame I've already given my UA. If I hadn't this would have got it.
Perfection, so well captured well deserving on all the awards,
John
Very impressive for hand-held at 1/10th, Trev. Obviously no shaking hands after sampling the vino the evening before![]()
What a marvellous looking place to visit.

A very nice capture again Trev. Lots of detail.
Look at all those UA’s, well deserved, well done.

This is a great shot and excellent processing. I'm really impressed with all of your images but the Rome ones are of particular interest as I've just booked a trip to there in April (my first ever visit) and your work is a real inspiration. Clearly though I'm going to have to invest in a good quality wide angle lens - something that has been sadly missing from my camera bag. Now I just have to persuade the good lady that it's a necessary investment ![]()
Thanks for the wonderful work
Cluke
