This is the temple at Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. During my work trip earlier this month I stayed at a hotel only a 5 minute walk from here, so I made several trips with my camera to Temple Square. The last trip finally resulted in some temple images I was happy with, and here is one of the results.

In the foreground there's a reflection of the temple, thanks to a reflection pool that was built there a few years ago. The round/oval thingies are coins tourists keep throwing in. The pool is cleaned every morning, except on Sunday - and this was shot on a Sunday, hence some remaining coins.

Cracking shot Conrad and well worth opening the large version.

Wonderful shot - that's a striking reflection, Conrad. (By the way - well done on spotting the Wordsworth quotation on today's upload. Just indulging myself with these titles recently as I thought they were becoming rather pedestrian!)

Thanks, all!

And that particular Wordsworth quote is easy to spot, Rob! Smile

It looks rather Russian in style for been in Utah, wonderful night shot and worth the wait

Well, the story of how the design was conceived is interesting in that respect, Victor (see the link in my write-up above). Definitely a mixed European influence.

Thanks for your comment!

Nice work Conrad - we used to live near the English temple in Surrey, and it was a fascinating place to take a trip.

Ah, Lingfield - a somewhat simpler design, though. But still very nice. I think I like the newer one near Preston better.

Thanks for your comment, Angela!

Speaking of work, this is very good. I can see why you would have to go back a few times until conditions were right. Fortunately you could just hop right over until you were happy with the results.

Quite, quite. BTW, it wasn't just weather conditions that made me go back a few times: It took me once or twice to remember I had to take the polariser off to make the most of the reflections. Duh... Wink
