Good evening folks.
Another rework of a shot I took last summer when we visited Whitby and Saltwick bay. We were a bit disappointed by the sea fret but I quite liked the fact that the Black Nab was a bit lost.
Anyone who's made the pilgrimage to the wreck will know it's not as glamorous as some shots would have you think.
Large might be a bit better
Thanks for looking.
Excellent comp and detail
Interesting shot - very abstract foreground.
Nicely composed,,like the mistiness of the whole shot and the strong foreground detail.
I have never even heard of this so I am looking at it with brand new eyes and I find it very magical and thought provoking.
Every time I go to Whitby it is just to see the Goths!
Great tones, viewpoint and foreground interest.
Lovely shot. The textural elements are really impressive, as is the composition.
Like your composition and the details in this - well captured.
Nicely different composition without the usual background. The texture of the wreck and rocks comes out well in the diffuse light.
I've been several times, but yet to see it in favourable conditions
Thanks again everyone.
Superb shot and post-processing. I like the contrast between the sharp, clear f/g and the misty b/g. Excellent work.
What a place Alan,hauntingly beautiful,very 3d and very atmospheric.Outstandingly composed.take care,Ann
It may not be glamorous, Alan, but it makes a great picture.
Thanks again all.
glad to be 30
"Is that as far as it got" .... LOL you cheeky beggar.
A lovely image this with a lonely and rather haunting quality. The limited colours and misty background just add to the atmosphere of the piece.
nice atmospheric shot
Thanks Ash, Elena.
It looks like another planet out there... er... not that I've actually been to one but anyway...
LOL. Thanks Patrick.
Very nice image ,kind of surreal in the mist
very nice image!
The conditions may not have been in your favour Alan but this shot makes the location look very mysterious.
Happy half-century, Alan, love the clarity of the fg compared with the misty bg, super stuff!
nice mood to this Alan making it different from the others
Superb image, beautifully produced.
fantastic! nice detail
fantastic shot, Alan!
Love the tones........
I've seen loads of Saltwick shots with varying degrees of sunset etc, this is the first misty one I remember seeing, and it is wonderful, most of us would probably not have bothered, but you have made the most of the conditions.
Misty & eerie and a lovely shot
Love the tones and detail.
