Visiting files of well remembered trips to counteract the grey skies.
This is a Samburu blacksmith working metal with very simple tools and equipment producing practical items for the tribe.
We were made very welcome and were the only visitors there at the time. It was an eyeopening trip and one I would like to repeat.

A great subject & very well exposed.
I like the wisp of smoke from the fire, would have liked to have seen more of that I think as it would add to the atmosphere of the image & what he was doing.

Thanks for the comments and I do agree with chase. I have just been back to the original file and found that I have just a little bit more on the right hand side to show the fire. It was cropped to 'fit'.

lots to enjoy in this interesting capture.
the quality of light looks to be so different from what we experience in this country, I can't see shadows on the ground but there seems to be plenty of light to give modelling to the mans body
