I like the angle,subject.Well done for hiding the sun but i would go further and blend outthe white halo around statue so you had a consistant blue sky?

Thanks for the comment, Kim. It's not actually the sun that's behind the statue, this photo is a sort of poor man's HDR - two photos taken at extreme exposures and then blended together. The white around the statue is from the blown-out sky of the lighter photo. It was a little experiment - photos of statues can be pretty dull, but I thought that this gave it a bit of pop!
