A male common blue butterfly I saw on some sweet peas growing on the sand dunes at Sand Bay near Weston-Super-Mare back in August. I must have seen more common blues along this stretch of the coast and at Sand Point on that day than I have all this summer.

An extremely beautiful butterfly Ed, one which is a real head-turner. The sumptuous colour and feathery, silk like plumage, make it even more endearing. Superbly captured, composed, processed presented.
