When I want to include folk in my landscapes and after finding the scene in question, I lie in wait behind bushes and when I see suitable candidates appear, I pop out and pretend to be composing my shot, moving around a bit: but the minute they reach the desired spot in the frame, I press the shutter and then lower the camera as if waiting for them to pass by. As they reach me, I raise the camera again as if now taking the shot, allowing them to think I was waiting for them to pass.
So far it has worked without questions being asked.
This was the method used here.
My thanks to all who commented on Overhang........as ever, so much appreciated.
Ronnie.

Beautiful Autumn Scene Ronnie, like the inclusion of the walkers,
Fred.
A beautiful autumnal scene Ronnie, the walkers add so much to this one. I see that you have mastered the technique used by erstwhile epzer AlanBW in many of his candid shots. No doubt the sly old silverfox the Lifesnapper uses this technique too when photographing young ladies on his travels!![]()
love it and your write up ...
a lurking tog thats for sure ![]()
pity there is a white thin tree in it otherwise it would have been perfect in my eyes.
Tho' you cant change nature ... or can you ![]()
You sure timed it right Ronnie lovely colours and I do like the people in the shot gives it balance and meaning. nice work. I do the same Ronnie waiting till they have gone, it works for me and for you also
John
Lovely colours Ronnie , I think if this was my shot i would have aimed lower to the ground and captured a Portrait frame shot and tried to get more colour from the fallen leaves as well , But you did very well just jumping out from behind the bushes
Regard's Tez
Super image, lovely autumnal colours and great composition

Yung beat me to it... that's my method with the tripod... act nonchalant with the remote and zap them when in place! Spot on with the composition again, Ronnie.
Dave
The skulduggery that is the dark side indeed, missed out on your lamppost hugging so had to turn to a bit of lurking instead oh dear whatever next.
Least it worked out and there still seems to be quite a bit of autumnal colour left in PCP good capture. I quite like Yungs devious way as well

You devious devil, but now you've lifted the lid on your technique.

This is so funny - I have a wonderful image in my mind of you Ronnie lurking in the bushes and jumping out at the right moment - it's straight out of a comedy sketch!!
The only thing you forgot to mention was the nonchalant whistling while you inspect your camera as they pass! I just wish I was there to capture you....!
And your technique has worked a treat! I'll have to remember it! The composition is just perfect and the autumnal colours beautiful!
Ann
a beautiful park.. really inviting. the three figures provide a sense of scale and perspective ![]()
That's a very sneaky way of candidly photographing people, Ronnie - must remember that, 'cos I always feel self-concious about photographing people like this! ![]()
And what a beautiful autumnal capture it is too, a super place for a saunter ![]()

You really made me laugh.. Ronnie. what a performance..
sounds that you are a good actor. I just thought that what it would turn out if Brodie was with you..
Beautiful shot, it's all worth it, the thoughts, ideas, performances.. the jumping up and down in the bush...![]()
I find myself somewhat concerned with the thought of you hiding in the midst of the local undergrowth, ready to pounce on unsuspecting passers-by, Ronnie, no matter how innocent your pouncing may be...
Does the title refer to the seasonal aspect of the nature, or to the age of the unknowing participants in your photographic image?
Malc
Ronnie, great shot full of those stunning rustic colours......and your comment made me smile after a hard day........nice.
Paul.
Excellent image Ronnie. You'd better watch the hiding in bushes bit though ![]()
