When I want to include folk in my landscapes and after finding the scene in question, I lie in wait behind bushes and when I see suitable candidates appear, I pop out and pretend to be composing my shot, moving around a bit: but the minute they reach the desired spot in the frame, I press the shutter and then lower the camera as if waiting for them to pass by. As they reach me, I raise the camera again as if now taking the shot, allowing them to think I was waiting for them to pass.
So far it has worked without questions being asked.
This was the method used here.

My thanks to all who commented on Overhang........as ever, so much appreciated.

Ronnie.

A beautiful autumnal scene Ronnie, the walkers add so much to this one. I see that you have mastered the technique used by erstwhile epzer AlanBW in many of his candid shots. No doubt the sly old silverfox the Lifesnapper uses this technique too when photographing young ladies on his travels!Wink

Lovely colours Ronnie , I think if this was my shot i would have aimed lower to the ground and captured a Portrait frame shot and tried to get more colour from the fallen leaves as well , But you did very well just jumping out from behind the bushes Smile

Your method worked well Ronnie. I normally mount my camera on a tripod and use a remote trigger, and I pretend to be looking at the birds or something in the sky and as soon they're in the frame I pull the trigger.

The skulduggery that is the dark side indeed, missed out on your lamppost hugging so had to turn to a bit of lurking instead oh dear whatever next.
Least it worked out and there still seems to be quite a bit of autumnal colour left in PCP good capture. I quite like Yungs devious way as well

This is so funny - I have a wonderful image in my mind of you Ronnie lurking in the bushes and jumping out at the right moment - it's straight out of a comedy sketch!! Smile The only thing you forgot to mention was the nonchalant whistling while you inspect your camera as they pass! I just wish I was there to capture you....! Smile And your technique has worked a treat! I'll have to remember it! The composition is just perfect and the autumnal colours beautiful!

I find myself somewhat concerned with the thought of you hiding in the midst of the local undergrowth, ready to pounce on unsuspecting passers-by, Ronnie, no matter how innocent your pouncing may be...

Does the title refer to the seasonal aspect of the nature, or to the age of the unknowing participants in your photographic image?
