One from the archives. From a trip to the Dales in March last year, and the visit to Scaleber Force early on.
Tone Mapped from one image, and converted to mono in CS2.
See what you think, as my mono skills leave something to be desired!!

Scotty
Fabulous composition and the treatment is perfect.
Simon
I see good tones through the entire range in the big version. Nicely composed too.
Patrick
I've been keeping my fingers crossed since I saw this one that it would get an EC, now I can feel my fingers again, congratualtions are in order matey,
Are you out tommorow morning anywhere?
Many congrats on the EC Martin. Great B&W treatment on a quality image. Well done.
Steve!
That is lovely Martin, incredibly worthy of the EC too. Great work.
Simon
Seen a LOT of shots of this place ... this is defnitiely up there with the best of em. This is one that any tog on here would be pleased to have taken IMHO.
Dan
Good job on the EC. The contrast of the smooth flow and sharp detail works well. I've found converting to monochrome on tone-mapped images can work really well as it keeps the detail without the distraction of highly saturated colours.

Lovely. Great conversion. I can't crack this B & W lark, so appreciate someone that has.
Martin
Just found this on one of my old uploads - seems you've cracked it. ![]()
Missed this until now Martin, like this than the usual colour ones.
John
Not content with the long overdue EC then Martin... You have to go and get Photo of the Week. Many congratulation on a stunner,
John
I was away when you posted this amazing shot Martin so would have missed it had it not been for the POTW.
As others have rightly said the composition and tonal range in the image are outstanding. The way you've kept the bright highlights under control is masterful.
Well done and many congatulations ![]()

This is one of the most beautiful pictures I've seen in my life!! Makes me love photography so much more. Thanks for the inspiration!!!
Just stumbled upon this.
Wow!
This is a brilliant image, beautifully handled. Well done.
Bill
If your mono skills leave a lot to be desired, then I mine are non-starters! I picked this image from your pf to look at more closely before I'd registered the EC + PW - I was attracted by the almost abstract quality of the composition, and I wasn't disappointed. I'm off to have a look around, now (I'm already familiar with your website in the big wide world). I may be some time...
