I'm working on a new lecture about the Arctic regions and looking at images that have gone under the radar. This Polar Bear part of a group of about 15 scavenging off a dead whale, was pacing the hinterland possibly had it's fill of whale meat ! I liked the grey/blue back drop contrasting with the bears coat. Taken from a Zodiac in choppy water and rain !! ( perhaps a hint of movement !)

Excellent wildlife image Ron, composition and muted tones portray the scale and the bleak side of the Arctic region.

Beautiful. We need the stark background to put this bear in context.
I bet it was smelly there with all those dead whales.

Must be wonderful to be able to go on such an expedition and get close to such creatures, my dreams lay in far warmer climes though. An Atlas Moth in Taiwan.....Yes please!

Great stuff Ron, thanks for sharing........You lucky devil.

Many thanks to all of you, perhaps you might like to sign petitions trying to save the Arctic ( via Greenpeace )
Ron.
