...often talked about but seldom seen.
A rework of an image from 2011.
Magical light in the darkness.
Scottish Mist? This must surely be a work of the famous shop of photo, Dougie. Everyone knows "the mist" is a mystical beast that only exists in the minds and eyes of non-believers.
Marvellous study, this. It is a patchwork of areas. the mountains separated from the loch by that thin sliver of light atop the water, and the outstanding sun-lit rocky foreground area.
Excellent image !!
The rainbow and a little patch of sun, pitting a spotlight onto that rock.
Plus something I've noticed before - that streak of still water along the far shore line, dividing land from water.
Excellent capture only wish i was back there to see it.
great shot love the light and the rain bow. christine
That is too lovely Dougie. Beautifully captured. Ann.

Its presence is felt worldwide
Golden light, threatening cloud, the land of mountain and water and the bonniest of rainbows, all encapsulated here.
Terrific shot !!!......lovely drama from the light & clouds.......love it !!
Looks like Sgurr-na-Stri is 'active again ?????.......ooer !!
The imaginary line, where sky and earth meet, is called horizon.
As a child I would have liked something to show me what's the meaning of this sentence.
Better late than never!
Excellent mood in this image.
Atmospheric, dramatic & lovely, rainbow a bonus.
The sunlit f/g contrasts well with the shadowy Cuillins with that cloud streaming off the summit, the rainbow such a beautiful extra. No wonder you want to head back up that way again. This image demonstrates the different weather conditions that can side by side in fairly close proximity in the high hills.
Volcanic backdrop and an impressive bright FG for depth and the rainbow frames and adds interest as does the darker band of cloud at the top.
Well thanks for all the interest, I went out for milk and got some cream when I saw all the comments on my return.
I got a bit wet just shortly after this as I recall.
brilliant comp and detail dougie love the moody sky and the rainbow a cracker nice one
Looks like some good old fashioned rain to me Dougie with a beautiful rainbow (real - not one of those inserted courtesy of PS!! ). Dramatic and beautiful - super shot!
Excellent combination Dougie, beautiful.
What a shot Dougie, and the combination of the mist and rainbow
cannot be bettered
This has everything. Heading up to Skye for the first time in a couple of weeks. This has my taste buds going in anticipation.
This would be my dream Elgol image to capture.....
Fabulous mood & atmosphere to this Dougie. For me this is is 2/3rds dreich 1/3rd magic light - wonderful combination.
Lillian many thanks for your award, I'm flattered my friend.
Gorgeous light, composition, sky and a rainbow to top it off; a beauty Dougie!
And the bike looked pretty accidental to me; they leave them just about anywhere

Thank you very much Kind Lady, I looked at this for ages before I posted, I was sure it would bomb, I'm very happy now I did. I'm sure I'll see more of this light soon on Skye.
Plus the rain of course.

Dougie, there is a lovely windswept feel to this image and an interesting change in tones between the b/g and the lighting in the rock face..........very nice.
