I took this picture of children playing in the sea in Spain over the summer. I'd be interested to know what you think.

It's a good capture of children enjoying the Spanish sea shore. Nice light. Well composed. Sadly we see too few such images. It seems to be a risky thing to photograph children in this the UK. The risk being to the photographer and his equipment not the children.
regards
Ian

I've done a mod where the shadows have been lightened a little. The children are a little dark. I feel some of the charm of the picture is the golden light and the effects on the sea/shore.

With the lightness of the sea behind the children, Louise, your subjects have been rendered quite dark, but Ian has addressed that issue well in his modification.
I like the diagonal of the incoming wave, and the children being in the right of the frame, with the sea to the left, assuming that's where they are heading. I also like the exuberance of the children that you have captured.
I wondered what this might look like without the foreground rock and so have done a cropped modification, with your aspect ratio maintained.
Pamela.
