A set of images for todays "Shadow Saturday" theme all taken last spring at Weston-Super-Mare in Somerset. The majority of these were taken on the Grand Pier which has been restored after the devastating fire of a few years ago when the twin peaks pictured here were burnt down. The town also gets the nickname Weston-Super-Mud due to the tide often being very far out, v1 is clear evidence of this

I see the tide is out, yet again, Ed, I don't think I have seen it in very many times Grin An excellent set taken in beautiful sunshine. Carol

Impressive structures and apparently maintained so well. Not sure but think V1 is my favourite. You seem to have had a fair share of sunshine at the time. Could do with some now!

Nice to see that the pier and buildings have been reconstructed: there's always something sad about a burned out remnant left for years as an eyesore.
Fine set documenting the new buildings, all looking so pristine at the moment.
Ronnie.

A wonderful set of quite cheerful images Ed, each full of seaside charm and warmth . Whilst image number one contains the all important Saturday Shadows, image number seven is priceless.

Nice set, V5 my favourite - people, perspective plus red splashes. But I do like the fact that V8 has been supplied with refreshments.

Great set of images Ed excellent shadows, was caught in the rain in September at the end of the pier, it was terrible I had to sit in the cafe eating pancakes and ice-cream!

A super set of shadow themes. The clarity and colour in all of them is 1st class. Also like the Gulls in V7.

The slow connection in hospital means that I can only see image 1 but it is wonderfully sharp so well worth a vote.

Spent a summer holiday at Southport one year (a long, long time ago Grin) was not impressed when it was low tide!! Got a temporary membership at the Southport & Ainsdale G.C., that was great! This is a fine set showing how well they've recovered from the fire Ed (which I remember seeing on TV), probably better now than it ever was!

You certainly achieved the shadows - I've loved looking at this set as I spent many happy holidays at Weston and Brean in the fifties and sixties!
V7 and the two seagulls out for a bit of sun amused me!
Wonderful!
