The secret garden is a very special place, It is a sanctuary, it is full of wildlife, and this apple and pear arch provides may delightful pies and chutneys in the autumn, at the moment there are snowdrops on either side of the path, these are followed by bluebells and wild garlic.
We paid a visit yesterday, the hedges in other parts of the garden had collapsed with the weight of the snow which was 18 inches deep . Under the arch was more sheltered but it was over the tops of our wellies to reach the garden.
I like the strong contrasts in this which show off some great patterns in the overhead arches.
Many thanks for the comments on previous images, it is lovely to hear your thoughts. I am still snowed in here - it is now about 8 inches deep and thawing.
