The secret garden is a very special place, It is a sanctuary, it is full of wildlife, and this apple and pear arch provides may delightful pies and chutneys in the autumn, at the moment there are snowdrops on either side of the path, these are followed by bluebells and wild garlic.

We paid a visit yesterday, the hedges in other parts of the garden had collapsed with the weight of the snow which was 18 inches deep . Under the arch was more sheltered but it was over the tops of our wellies to reach the garden.

I like the strong contrasts in this which show off some great patterns in the overhead arches.

Many thanks for the comments on previous images, it is lovely to hear your thoughts. I am still snowed in here - it is now about 8 inches deep and thawing.

A beautiful image, Linda, well exposed and captured. It must be a wonderful sight when the arch is covered in Spring blossoms. Carol

I like this a lot, 22mm has given an embracing feel to the arched branches and pushed the door back so that it looks tiny. There's an Alice in Wonderland feel.
My eye wants to rotate this just a degree or two anti-clockwise, have downloaded for a possible Mod!

I've uploaded a Mod, I've rotated by 1 only. It's partly an optical illusion, because the drainpipe on the right isn't straight!

What a wonderful archway - I'm envious! Must be stunning when in flower. Have to say, the doorway is straight so my brain assumed the downpipe wasn't in reality!

The snow encrusted natural tunnel makes for a great shot and the B and W presentation seems just right, Linda.
The subject and the path carry the eye right down to the door and I wonder what lies beyond.
