I absolutely love the concept, Katie. It's sometimes said the important part of photography is in your mind! 
As I think has been mentioned on another of your photos, the background needs some attention. The picture looks quite soft - there's no reason why it should be if you use a tripod, a table or other firm surface.
You might like to have another go at this.
mate its an actually backdrop not peices of paper LOL when it was delievered it was folded up so it has creases we are waiting for the creases to drop
