These are the peolpe who've been stood behind my models messing up my portraits...er sorry, making sure there's no trouble at the event.

The jolly lads & lass of the security team. Without whom most events wouldn't take place.

And some photos would be better. Sorry, couldn't just let it go.

Thanks for your comments folks, always appreciated.

Moira - They weren't posing. It was completely candid, & they were laughing at some private joke. I caught them in between the comings & goings of the great, long, golden dragon. Had to time it right too, as the guy at the front with the ball had it chasing it's own tail, and there wasn't much of a gap. Smile

"Our lives in their hands" Smile
Actually they look like a rather jolly crew, considering they're probably being paid peanuts to stand around getting cold. But I note the results of the latest A.P. poll that most photographers find private security far more likely then police officers to stop photographers unnecessarily......

It depends on the security Bill, I think. Event security, hired on an ad-hoc basis seem to be less bothered than those who are permanently employed to look after a venue. After all, you can't fire someone who doesn't work for you.

I've only ever been stopped once, & that was going into a large store in Liverpool 1. And before Mikbee arrives and casts further aspersions on my good name, I was going in not out with something stashed under my coat. Smile

A super image Davey - lovely smiling faces on security staff (makes a change!), and all that bright yellow!!! Terrific!

They look far too jolly to be security, usually they are all stood round trying to look intimidating.

Best Matt

In all my years photographing down at ''MY WATERSIDE'' Davey,I have yet to meet a security guard with a smile on his face.I say ''his'' as I have yet to see a female one.I realise they can have a very trying job to do at times, but a little courtesy and good manners would not go amiss with them.A full knowledge of the law and at least a little command of the English language would be a big help too !!
Good shot, and I will have to go before I go into one of my little rants !!
Mick.
