I took this image on a recent trip to Porlock Common, Exmoor, to catch the sunrise hitting the heather.

Lovely colours and plenty of light coming across the image.

Lovely composition, just wonder whether a little less exposure to saturate the colours more would affect the light airy feel of the image (not being critical, just an idle musing). And welcome, great first posting.

Welome to the site, Stephen: and a very nicely composed image to start your portfolio. The flowering of the Heather transforms the moors and when caught in the warm light of early or late day the colours are spectacular.

Fair point. After trying other exposures at the time the contrast felt right in this one. The heather wasn't at its most colourful as it was quite fresh so that may affect it.
