This is a close-up on a plant that I saw in Kew Gardens...thought it made a nice abstract. It was originally green, but i had toned it into sepia.

Thanks for taking a look at this and please feel free to leave your comments. Cheers! =)

p/s: I'm flying to Singapore today for two weeks to celebrate chinese new year with family and friends. Will not be accessing the internet as much, so will slowly catch up with your photos when i am back.

Thanks Lucien and Alexandra for leaving your comments on my earlier orchird upload. But i felt it was a standard shot and so had taken it down as i had decided that i would want to invite comments for improvement to this shot instead. Sorry about it. (i don't usually do this!!) =)

Angie - I hadn't uploaded any green version of this before, so i guess it must be someone's else. =)

i opened it thinking, oh another high-ranking abstract pattern of another succulent. let's see what the fuss is about.

i see what the fuss is about!

there is some kind of grain or texture on the "leaves" themselves. that, added to the detail on the tiny "hairs" and the luminous look of them, makes this quite different and satisfying.

have a good trip, sze. we'll see you soon.

Thanks all! =)

Mike - I am sorry, but i have no idea what the name of this plant is...but i think it is a sort of cactus... Found it at the "cactus section" in one of the conservatory in Kew. =)

Lucie - Its funny when you said "I see what the fuss is about!" 'Cos I must confess that i am quite bewildered by the quick and positive responses that I got for this image. I like it, but didn't think that too many people would! Thanks for surprising me. =)
