Just a few hundred yards from FernGully (last upload) lies Shadowland aka High Beach, Epping Forest. The perspective is not that obvious here. We were walking down quite a steep slope into the sun and the shadows are caused by an oblique sun shining down the opposite slope through the trees. No colour adjustment or Topaz etc on this, just a bit of light levels and touch of sharpening. Exif as shown, exposed for the tree canopy.

Many thanks to all those who took time to look/vote/comment on my last, as always, most appreciated.

A very grey day in Londinium, not even any atmospheric mist/fog left. Time to sort some of my log jammed in-tray (....maybeGrin).

Cheers, Dave

Beautiful shadow and light, the colour is wonderful... I do like shadows. The most part I like of the image is its painting quality...looks like an oil painting with rich colour, texture and space...

These back lit beech leaves stand out in contrast so well with the dark shadowed forest floor........a good idea and well executed, Dave.

Ooooo....missed this beauty !!

Great shot !!!....love the 'off-beat' framing, which although concentrating on the dark shapes & shadows, has a surprising impact from
the 'intrusion' of those brightly coloured leaves......clever shot !!!!!!!

The lovely colours in the shaft of light accentuates the shadows and gives a wonderful depth to this image.
