...at the red roofed croft near Inverbain.
Strong mono, Dougie.
Good choice with mono Dougie.
I always see the red roof in colour at my camera club !!
And thank goodness that lone tree at Rannoch Moor has blown down.
At least some members there might ACTUALLY photograph something different now !!
(OK.perhaps I can't talk because of my rust, but I think you will get my drift !!)
It's sadly missed by me and many others Mick, one of the icons of Scotland.
What a great image...
A good, strong mono. Shadows assume an imposing, almost overwhelming presence in a mountain landscape.
Don't worry about Mick's attitude to the missing tree, Dougie.
He is really an old Romantic at heart.
Although due to his railway background it might be described as the Wrong Kind of Romantic
It's a pleasure to have Mick back Bill.
Wonderful long diagonal shadows against the horizontals. In colour I might not even notice them, I'd be looking at the roof. I'm on a high horse at the moment about b&w because of some extremely pig-headed comments that I've seen on the site - mono can tell the truth that lies underneath the colour.
Like your comp and the shadows here Dougie
Beautiful! I'd love to walk down that diagonal light, right to the waters edge. Have a relaxing moment viewing all the beauty, then head up to the red roof cottage......Sandy

Oh I think I am in trouble Dougie I suggested I preferred one of Moiras in colour rather than mono so I will just agree with you that mono is great and give you a tick.
Beautiful !!!.....lovely composition, & top quality !!
An idyllic spot (with or without out the midges) - the mono is perfect and I've said this not for you, or Moira for that matter, but because it brings out lots of detail and mood. Super stuff Dougie!
Interesting composition here, Dougie. I am used to seeing the cottage placed at an angle to display the red roof. I like the B&W treatment and the diagonal shadow.
Good strong, contrasty shot Dougie, I may have put the cottage a little further away from the edge.
The shadows dominate and dictate, but don't manage to take over completely, Dougie. A very fine balance between the light and the dark.
Perfect composition Dougie, you sure know how to show landscape at its best
I like the sense of depth in this Dougie.
Beautiful composition Dougie, with lovely depth. Excellent B&W conversion too.
"I think they might be ladders?" They looked like ladders, but had boards bolted to them to use as platforms in the scaffolding
Beautiful piece of scenery Dougie. MOira
Interesting to see a red roofed in mono
Wow! This is one beauty in mono! Frozen heat.
You're really into mono at the moment, nice shadows and light which made a superb landscape mono. I like the pano crop too.
