V1 works for me, a lovely portrait of a lovely lady.

Good simple portrait. I would have gone for v2, but the high lights on the right merge into the background. So it's v1 for me.
Phil

Number 2 for me for completely the opposite reason of that above. On V1 the right side of the face looks like a hotspot, which I don't think is particularly conducive to a decent portrait, but in B&W it looks deliberate AND complimentary.

V2 definitely wins by a country mile imo, Tommy.
Have to agree with Danny, Lisa and Hoffy.
Whilst V1 is technically excellent, it really doesn't have the same impact and air of mystery and intrigue as the high key mono.
V2 says "Who is this? What's going on here?" and is softer and more communicative photographer/ viewer.
V1 is quite sterile by comparison.
Cheers
Bill

(ps: Sharon - I don't think you need any!)

Its funny, I like the one side brighter than the other but I know its not the norm. I admit thought I prefer the BW version myself Smile but hey and Dannny/Lisa is spot on....

I like v2 for the extra effort you've put in. Still think there might be a wee something to be done about the eyes. Bonnie lass, hope you deserve her.

more mental than metal Wink spellings not my strong point lol....

Thanks, I like the mono too but Im a sucker for moody monos...

Doug, not sure about the eye comment, curious what you would think would give them more impact?

Thanks again everyone for your time and comments...

Ah, that answered my Q about the dog Wink

I wonder if Doug's comment about the eyes is because they are so dark in V2?

Whatever, I like V2 but theya re both excellent Smile

Cracking shot Tommy, V2 is the one for me the softness and B&W works best. She doesn't need the make up if this is her without.

I like V2 but think something in between V1 and V2 would be worth trying Smile

It's good to meet Sharon Smile like both versions but the B&W just that little bit more.
