OK, I don't normally put up standard portraits but as its a Sunday and I been playing about... I thought I would give this one a go...
My GF Sharon Please feel free to crit this but don't say anything nasty or I will be forced to set Benji her tinny dog on you
All the Best, Tommy
V1 works for me, a lovely portrait of a lovely lady.
These are both very nice, I really like the conversion.
Good simple portrait. I would have gone for v2, but the high lights on the right merge into the background. So it's v1 for me.
Number 2 for me for completely the opposite reason of that above. On V1 the right side of the face looks like a hotspot, which I don't think is particularly conducive to a decent portrait, but in B&W it looks deliberate AND complimentary.
V2 for me Tommy for the same reasons as DannyJames said.
V1 is quality and clean image. V2 ads some mystory. Nice eyes.
at least wait til i have a wee bit oh make up on......
V2 definitely wins by a country mile imo, Tommy.
Have to agree with Danny, Lisa and Hoffy.
Whilst V1 is technically excellent, it really doesn't have the same impact and air of mystery and intrigue as the high key mono.
V2 says "Who is this? What's going on here?" and is softer and more communicative photographer/ viewer.
V1 is quite sterile by comparison.
(ps: Sharon - I don't think you need any!)
Its funny, I like the one side brighter than the other but I know its not the norm. I admit thought I prefer the BW version myself but hey and Dannny/Lisa is spot on....
Thanks Billy and everyone for taking the time to comment...
v1 works best for me stunning......john
I like v2 for the extra effort you've put in. Still think there might be a wee something to be done about the eyes. Bonnie lass, hope you deserve her.
Mono for me.
Why's she got a metal dog?!
Quote: Why's she got a metal dog?!
more mental than metal spellings not my strong point lol....
Thanks, I like the mono too but Im a sucker for moody monos...
Doug, not sure about the eye comment, curious what you would think would give them more impact?
Thanks again everyone for your time and comments...
Ah, that answered my Q about the dog
I wonder if Doug's comment about the eyes is because they are so dark in V2?
Whatever, I like V2 but theya re both excellent
Cracking shot Tommy, V2 is the one for me the softness and B&W works best. She doesn't need the make up if this is her without.
I like V2 but think something in between V1 and V2 would be worth trying
Will try that Dianna..
It's good to meet Sharon like both versions but the B&W just that little bit more.
