I kept the tripod in the same location as for the last couple of shots but swung the camera through about 120deg. to catch this shot of Sheep Island. Lots of puffins and assorted seabirds to be found there. But no sheep. Maybe from certain angles the island looks like a sheep.... Who knows?

The famous Bushmills distillery is not far away so perhaps this is not unconnected?

Oh, this is just SO much better than that one just ahead of you!

Yes, that sweeping feeling really does the trick. This looks like an awesome place and your previous ones show it off well. There is some noise in the sky. But you're using velvia 50, so I'm not sure where the noise is coming from. Is it the scanner?

I hope to see more from here!

Patrick

This is really is very beautiful Julian. Everything that's been accurately describes what a great shot this is but, for me, the added bonus is the delicate colours in the sky! It works so well against the richer, darker tones of the land. Big click from me!

Thanks everyone!

@Patrick> Velvia can be a right b*gger to scan. May have another crack at this one - especially in the light of the mods!

@Mario> Thanks! That's an excellent job you've done there - that treatment didn't occur to me at all. Food for thought, indeed.

@John> Agreed. Wonderful location. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't on my side when I was there. I guess I'll just have to go back....

Lovely shot. I prefer the morestaurated tones of your shot Jools to the mod. Looks more convincing for the weather....like it's just rained. Fabulous composition in every way. The slope of the land just pulls you along the grass lead-in lines & the domanance of the sky gives the feeling of openess and space heading out to sea. Superb.

Trevor.

The lines in the field make a superb lead in to the image. Fantastic colours.
